TUESDAY ALERT
It won’t be a blockbuster storm, but we do have a system to watch on Tuesday—especially with holiday travel ramping up. Light snow and rain will move in anytime after about 9AM and continue through roughly 10PM. Along the coast, precipitation will be a mix at times, keeping snow amounts lower with mainly a coating up to 1″. Some of that snow will melt, be prepared for slushy conditions. Inland areas west of 495 and into the higher elevations, we will see a little more snow with 1–2″ expected, and a few isolated spots could see slightly higher totals.
While this is not a major storm, even light snow can cause travel delays on a busy holiday travel day. Plan for slower commutes, especially during the afternoon and evening hours, and have the snow brush handy!
HOLIDAY FORECAST
Once the storm clears Tuesday night, attention turns to the wind. Wednesday will be blustery, with gusts reaching 30–50 mph, strongest across the Cape and Islands. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees, it will feel cooler at times.

Looking ahead to Christmas Day, the weather cooperates. It should be fairly quiet and seasonable, though a few flurries can’t be ruled out at times—nothing impactful.
ON YOUR RADAR
The next bigger weather concerns arrive late Friday night into Saturday, when another storm could bring snow and a mix. It’s still too early for specifics, but this system has the potential to cause travel issues. Yet another storm follows on Sunday with rain and mixed precipitation possible. If you’re traveling this weekend, it will be important to check back frequently as these forecasts come into clearer focus.
