There is also police body camera video that shows his arrest a short time later.
The body camera video shows as officers tracked down Rhymes on July 21, after, moments before, he allegedly brandished a gun during an altercation with a patient inside a packed hospital lobby.
After police retrieved a fully loaded gun from Rhymes, he then pleaded his case.
Rhymes was heard on the video saying he did show that he had a gun.
In the wake of this security scare, a University of Illinois Chicago spokesperson said in a statement, "During the incident, no shots were fired, and no injuries occurred. The hospital has implemented new and enhanced security protocols."
Aramark, the third-party food service contractor Rhymes worked for at the time of the incident, confirmed he is no longer with the company.
